Reporting posts

Sometimes a spammer might get through our defences or someone might say something that you think is inappropriate. If this happens just click on the “Report” link at the top of the post. (Next to the reply link.)

Select the reason for the report and an email will automatically be sent to forum admin.

Is this forum mobile friendly?

Yes the forum works fine on a mobile phone but remember that on some phones with smaller screens you might have to rotate to horizontal view to view images that are posted in scenery format (phone on auto rotate?). Remember that you can resize (zoom in/out) images on a mobile phone by pinching together or sliding apart your fingers on the touch screen.

How do I edit my profile and add an avatar?

Once logged in to the forum Just click on your name or avatar. This will open your profile page and on the left at the bottom you will see the edit profile link. Here you can add further details to your profile. Remember to save any changes you make.

How do I subscribe to a forum board or topic?

When you click on a forum category title or a topic title in the top right hand corner you will see the word “subscribe” Click that and any time a new post is made in that board you will receive an email notification. If you subscribe to a topic then you will recieve an email notification every time someone replies to that pasrticular topic.

When you subscribe the link changes to “Unsubscribe” Just click that to unsubscribe from boards or topics.

How do I add a link to a different website?

Go to the website where you want to copy the link. In the browser bar right click (or hold and select on mobile.) Paste into your post.

Links to external websites from this forum sometimes do not open in a new window or tab. It is becoming more common practice now that the user selects for this to happen rather than forcing them to do so. On a desktop just right click the link that you see in a post and select “Open in new tab”. On a mobile just touch the back button to return to the forum topic with the external link

Can I embed you tube videos?

Yes, you can. Copy the link from the you tube page and paste it into your post. The forum will automatically embed the video.

Can I upload Images?

Yes you can. Try to save them for web use first on your computer but this forum does have an image compression system that will automatically reduce the size of the image so that it displays correctly here on the forum. Uploading from a mobile phone is simple and straightforward.

Can I upload other files such as mp3 sound files?

Yes, you can (Though the upload limit is 2mb) At the bottom of the creating a post form you will find the attachment link. Click that and search for the file that you want to upload. When you save your post the attachment will be visible at the bottom of your post as a thumbnail.

Oh!!!!! So I use a mobile and only just discovered that the forum is a lot easier to navigate rotated horizontally…. Note to self…. Read the help guides and instruction in the future…. Thanks Clive! 🙂
