So I have decided to see if the Iberianature forum still has a place in this world of facebook, twitter and instagram. I think it does.
So if you are reading this, register and post a comment or question on one of the forum boards…..
Facebook is in almost everyone’s living room now. A place where you basically don’t have any control over the discussions that take place without using FB-groups.
When a FB group grows too large, you again lose all control over what discussions you really even get to see and participate in. It is fact that FB has always controlled content, and content visibility for every user individually.
Forums on the other hand, tend to be directed at (generally well) defined smaller audiences, and offer structure, stability and continuity so that you pretty much know what types of discussions you are about to see when you log on, and that any discussion you took part in the past will most likely be easy to find in the future.

I think that facebook has a place but what gets on my nerves is that people upload their photos of all sorts of things and expect a custom service.
Facebook is free… it stores your images and your friend network….. For that free service you have to pay somewhere along the line and that is the advertising….
People complain too much about it. If you dont like it dont use it?
That said, finding something that you talked about last month is virtually impossible on facebook… Forums such as this one are much better for the library system of storing information…

Hi all…. Interesting topic no?
I use facebook quite a lot to keep in touch with friends and family but like many people have issues with the advertising and also the difficulty of finding old posts, especially ones where I have had a bug or plant identified in a group.
Dave is quite right… If you don’t like it then don’t use it but to many people (especially some business) it has become a necessary evil in the same way the trip advisor and the hotel booking sites….
I really hope that this forum takes off again and gets the support that it deserves. Well done Clive (and Nick)
