Hi all,
There s a huge argument breaking out about the methods Madrid council are using to control the cities parrot/parakeet populations…The amount of almost 3 million euros that is going to the company that won the contract is also under question.
Here’s the article in Spanish: https://www.elindependiente.com/futuro/animales/2021/11/25/polemica-entre-animalistas-y-el-ayuntamiento-de-madrid-por-la-caza-a-perdigonazos-de-cotorras/

Thats a bit confusing. El Pais says its going to cost 100,000 euros and El Independiente says almost 3 million! Bit of an economic difference there no?
The plan is set to be carried out in the fall of next year, and will cost between €6 and €8 for each parakeet, around €100,000 in total.
